13th International Conference on Shot Peening ICSP-13

Successful participation of TBM Automation AG, Widnau

ICSP-13, the most important international shot-peening conference, took place in Montreal, Canada, September 18th to 21th, 2017. The conference was well organized by Prof. Dr. Martin Levesque from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. TBM Automation AG was pleased about the interest of the participants.

In addition to the high-precision media flow control, the projects recently realized with Roxor (Freymatic) were presented. For example, a blisk peening machine for Rolls-Royce or various shot-peening and cleaning blast machines for Lufthansa Technik, SR Technics and Liebherr Aerospace.

The scientific program was focussed on the digitization of the shot-peening process and its simulation. The participants from business and teaching also commemorated Prof. Dr. Ing. Helmut Wohlfahrt, the recently deceased shot-peening pioneer.

There were many exciting professional talks at the highest level, but there was also time for small talk and a solemn banquet on the St. Lawrence River. Equally interesting were the company excursions, e.g. to Bell Helicopters, Bombardier or Safran Landing Systems.

The ICSP-13 was generally a great success. Almost 200 conference participants could experience exciting scientific lectures, as well as inform themselves about the latest developments in shot peening technology.

The next ICSP-14 conference will take place in Milano, Italy in 2020. The host will be Prof. Dr. Mario Guagliano from the Politecnico di Milano.
