Sustainability at TBM Automation AG - responsibility for the future
TBM Automation AG is setting a clear example for sustainability and energy efficiency. Together with Werner Kolb AG as the owners' association, we implemented comprehensive measures in 2023 to sustainably equip our company building for the future.
A key step was the removal of the gas heating system and the installation of a powerful 40kW geothermal heat pump with a modern storage tank. In addition, a 15kWp photovoltaic system was installed, which covers a significant part of our energy requirements from renewable sources. A new, highly insulated door also contributes to energy savings, while our intelligent building management system controls the room temperature efficiently.
In total, we have invested over 200,000 Swiss francs to significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Thanks to these measures, we can save over 15 tonnes of CO2 a year in heating and generate around 15,000 kWh of electricity from sustainable sources. These investments also make us less dependent on gas suppliers. The subsidies from the canton of St. Gallen and the municipality of Widnau make a significant contribution to amortisation - for which we would like to express our sincere thanks!
We are also actively promoting electric mobility among our employees: Modern charging points for electric cars are available on our company premises. In addition, consistent waste separation and recycling have been part of our sustainability concept for many years.
With these investments in an environmentally friendly future, we are taking responsibility - for our employees, our customers and the environment.
